We reviewed an equivalent of the Inspiron 14RN-1227BK last year, though it was just a review of the Inspiron 14R configured on Dell.com. The Inspiron 14R is a solid budget laptop and offers all the ports you need, including both USB 3.0 and HDMI. The Inspiron 14R starts at $499.99 on Dell.com with LESS memory (only 4GB) so for $350 after rebate on Staples.com you’re saving around $150 plus the cost of 2GB of RAM, which is about another $20. Overall we don’t think you’ll find a better price for a new Core i3 14-inch screen laptop unless you wait until Black Friday of 2012, but if you need a laptop now that’s an awfully long time to wait!
