Laptop Brands and Manufacturers List

There are many laptop brands and manufacturers that offer varying classes of laptops.  The biggest brands operate the world over and offer strong service and support that includes clear documentation and access to updated driver downloads that are available for several years after a laptop is purchased.  The biggest laptop brands are listed below, you can click on the brand to find news, reviews and deals we have featured on LaptopReviews.com for a particular brand:

  • Acer – Acer manufacturers the TravelMate, Extensa, Ferrari and Aspire line of laptops.  Acer is known for offering very competitive pricing and innovating in the thin-and-light category of laptops.  Acer was one of the earliest brands to produce netbooks but has recently said they will focus more on the ultrabook category.
  • Apple – Apple produces the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro line of laptops.  Apple has been gaining market share and mindshare among consumers for several years now and continues to grow in popularity thanks to its focus on premium design and “halo” of products that integrate and work well with each other.
  • ASUS – ASUS makes the Eee Series of netbooks, Lamborghini gaming laptops and G-series gaming laptops.   ASUS is also an innovator in regards to design and form, past innovations include a bamboo lid laptop and the Asus Transformer tablet to laptop convertible.
  • Dell – Dell offers both business and consumer laptops.  Dell’s business lineup consists of the Precision Workstations, Latitude mobile laptops and Vostro budget laptops.  Their consumer line is composed of the budget Inspiron series, XPS gaming series and Alienware premium gaming laptops.
  • Hewlett Packard (HP) – HP is the biggest laptop manufacturer in North America.  HP’s business lineup includes the ProBook, EliteBook lines while consumer includes the Pavilion, Compaq, G Series, and Envy line of gaming laptops.
  • Fujitsu – Fujitsu has a stronger presence in Europe selling laptops.  Fujitsu markets and sells the LifeBook and Stylistic series.   Fujitsu has been involved in producing both slate and convertible tablets from the advent of the Tablet PC.
  • Lenovo – Lenovo purchased the IBM PC division several years ago and now owns the iconic ThinkPad line of laptops.  Lenovo also sells the IdeaPad line of consumer laptops.
  • Samsung – Samsung is well known in the electronics industry as being a design innovator.  They produce the Series 3, Series 7 and Series 9 laptops.
  • Sony – Sony produces the very popular VAIO brand of laptops.  The VAIO series is well known for design and premium features.  The VAIO Z is the flagship laptop from Sony.
  • Toshiba – Toshiba was one of the earliest manufacturers to start producing laptops.  Toshiba sells the Portege and Tecra business laptops, Satellite consumer laptops and Qosmio gaming laptops.
